A Historic Italian in Glasgow

PASSEGGIATA
Italian [verb] To walk. The evening stroll. Purpose: to see and be seen.

92 Mitchell Street has been an Italian restaurant for half a century - home to Glasgow’s first Italian restaurant. The site first opened as L’Ariosto, the home of the Italian dinner dance and the place to see and be seen. As recent as 2008, the restaurant still carried out the classic flambe cooking tableside, a favourite of traditional Italian restaurants. Sadly, the days of flambe and dinner dances have gone… for now, but Barolo continues to have its essence as serving up the glamour of 1960s “La Dolce Vita”.
